For the launching of the PME Performantes WASH-Climate 2.0 program, ForthInvestment and its partner Aqua for All organized a workshop entitled “WASH Coffee” on March 22, 2023. This event brought together SME beneficiaries of the PME Performantes WASH program and the PME Performantes WASH-Climate 2.0 program.0.
The main objective of the WASH Coffee was to foster networking among SMEs in the sector and, more specifically, to promote exchanges between SMEs from the two programs: PME Performantes WASH and PME Performantes WASH-Climate 2.0.
The ceremony took place in four phases: a phase of presentation of SMEs, then the intervention of some SMEs through testimonials for the first cohort and expectations of the second cohort. Following this stage, participants took part in group activities on various topics particularly impacting SMEs in the WASH sector, such as the search for funding, the search for customers, the open-air dumping, etc. The participants also had lunch in a friendly atmosphere, which allowed them to exchange informally and to build relationships.
As a reminder, PME Performantes WASH-Climat 2.0 is a program launched by ForthInvestment and its partner Aqua for All that aims to strengthen the private water and sanitation sector and contribute to the achievement of SDG 6. Through this program, SMEs will benefit from customized organizational and technical support, financing, and easier access to financing structures. This program also represents an opportunity to bring together actors in the WASH ecosystem and businesses through networking activities and advocacy. This program is a follow-up to PME Performantes WASH program which successfully accompanied ten (10) WASH SMEs from February 2021 to August 2022.
