A driving force for youth employment in Burkina Faso

The curtain has come down on the Job & Business Booster (JBB) project, launched in 2023 and implemented in 10 regions of Burkina Faso.

Job & Business Booster, a joint effort by ForthInvestment and the Woord consortium in Daad, aimed to address a major challenge: turning unemployment into opportunity through structured, sustainable entrepreneurship.

The closing ceremony took place on Friday June 27, 2025 at the Palm Beach Hotel, providing an ideal setting for inspiring exchanges and meaningful reflections.

The presidium was made up of Massa BALIMA, Managing Director of ForthInvestment and representative of the consortium on this occasion, Alayidi Nonla Sosthรจne KONDE, National Coordinator, and Ibrahim SAWADOGO, President of the Rรฉseau des Acteurs Economiques – ResAE.

In three years, JBB – co-funded by the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) – has achieved tangible results:

  • 400 entrepreneurs supported, 50% of them women
  • 1,065 decent jobs created or strengthened nationwide
  • Formalization and structuring of businesses, 10% of which raise a total of CFAF 125 million to go to scale
  • And above all, a dynamic, connected community: ResAE, which acts as a catalyst to amplify this impact over time.

Job & Business Booster demonstrates that with quality support, personalized advice and a committed community, every idea can become a solid business, generating value and decent jobs for young people in Burkina Faso.
