As part of the implementation of the PME Performantes WASH-Climat 2.0 program, ForthInvestment and its partner Aqua for All organized a workshop titled “WASH Cafe” on March 22, 2023. This event brought together the beneficiary SMEs of the PME Performantes WASH program and those from the PME Performantes WASH-Climat 2.0 program.
The main objective of this WASH Cafe was to foster networking among sector SMEs and, more specifically, to promote exchanges between the SMEs of the two programs: PME Performantes WASH and PME Performantes WASH-Climat 2.0.
The ceremony consisted of four phases: an SME presentation phase, followed by testimonials from some SMEs for the first cohort and the expectations of the second cohort. Following this stage, participants took part in group activities on various topics particularly impacting WASH sector SMEs; such as fundraising, client acquisition, open-air unloading, etc. Finally, the participants had lunch in a friendly atmosphere, which allowed them to exchange informally and build connections.
As a reminder, PME Performantes WASH-Climat 2.0 is a program launched by ForthInvestment and its partner Aqua for All, whose objective is to strengthen the private water and sanitation sector and contribute to achieving SDG 6. Through this program, SMEs will benefit from tailored organizational and technical support, funding, and facilitated access to financing institutions. This program also represents an opportunity to bring together WASH ecosystem stakeholders and businesses, through networking activities and advocacy. This program follows the PME Performantes WASH program, which successfully supported ten (10) WASH sector SMEs from February 2021 to August 2022.
