Applications closed  <\/strong>on March 25.<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The <strong>PERFORMING SMEs WASH sector<\/strong> program is developed by <strong>ForthInvestment<\/strong> and co-financed by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aquaforall.org\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/aquaforall.org\/\">Aqua for All<\/a><\/strong>. It is deployed in partnership with <strong>IRC WASH, Sinergi Burkina, La Maison de la PME<\/strong> (Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 G\u00e9n\u00e9rale Burkina Faso), <strong>l\u2019institut 2IE<\/strong> and other actors in financing and supporting the private sector. <\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>Its mission is <strong>to support and develop 10 SMEs over a period of ten (10) months<\/strong> in the sectors of:<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>Water<\/strong>:<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">&#13;\n<li>Drinking water companies (water disinfection);<\/li>&#13;\n<li>Domestic water treatment and storage (water filters);<\/li>&#13;\n<li>Water maintenance and operation services (standpipes)<\/li>&#13;\n<\/ul>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>Sanitation:<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">&#13;\n<li>Toilet economy (sludge management, ecological toilets).<\/li>&#13;\n<li>Circular economy (fecal sludge recycling, biodigesters).<\/li>&#13;\n<\/ul>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p><strong>Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM):<\/strong><\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>Water recharge, retention, and reuse (rainwater harvesting, awareness and training)<\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">&#13;\n<li>Geophysical consulting firms (drilling)<\/li>&#13;\n<li>Efficient water use (hydroponic cultivation in connection with wastewater reuse).<\/li>&#13;\n<\/ul>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The selection phase lasted three (03) months. Out of 37 applicant SMEs, 20 SMEs were pre-selected and ten (10) SMEs were chosen by a committee, at the end of a process including a <strong>diagnostic<\/strong> phase, an <strong>interview<\/strong>, and a <strong>site visit<\/strong>. <\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The selected SMEs were invited to a meeting on May 3, 2021, at ForthInvestment&#8217;s premises. During the meeting, they were presented with the details of the <strong>program and the support modalities.<\/strong> <\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>The &#8220;PERFORMING SMEs WASH&#8221; program is therefore underway, with 10 SMEs on board <strong>seeking growth<\/strong>, and alongside them, <strong>viability experts<\/strong>, <strong>SME development experts<\/strong>, <strong>technical experts<\/strong> in the various WASH sectors, and investors. All led by a competent ForthInvestment team serving one of the <strong>most<\/strong> <strong>innovative<\/strong> programs in the market. <\/p>&#13;\n&#13;\n<p>Upon arrival, 10 SMEs will emerge <strong>with strengthened technical and organizational skills<\/strong>, with <strong>financial support<\/strong> for their short- and medium-term needs.
